The Rolling Stones catapulted to mega-stardom when the rock band came out with their hit song back in 1965, “I Can’t get No Satisfaction”. On the more philosophical level, the Stones were rebelling against the media’s suffocating advertising, going on a virtual anti-Capitalistic rant. But on the more visceral and obvious level, Mick Jagger was bristling over his failed attempts to woo a certain young maiden into a non-Platonic relationship.
But putting aside his reason/s over lamenting his lack of satisfaction, I believe we all can relate to his frustration when it comes to the subject of finances. For example, how many of us commiserate because we make too much money? Or how many of us ever plead getting demoted in the workplace? We’re all familiar with the English idiom, “keeping up w/ Jones’. Have you ever noticed that the Jones’ are never us, they’re always somebody else?
Come this Sunday to hear what the Bible says about discovering the secret to fiscal satisfaction.
