Sermon Synopsis for Sunday, December 26th: “Joseph Visited (Part 2)”

I’m quite certain the Jews of the 1st century felt like God had long abandoned them. He had remained conspicuously silent for over 400 years. No doubt, some of His Chosen People had already concluded that He had thrown in His Mercy-towel on the nation because it had spiritually blown it time and time again over the prior 2 millennia.

Many, perhaps most of us can identify with this sense of abandonment. We’ve gone thru some miserable trial in our life. Oh, we’ve prayed and prayed about it, but Heaven’s answering service just keeps us on hold. “Doesn’t God care? Doesn’t He see what’s going on here? I can’t take anymore. I’m fried.”

But this is what Christmas was, and continues to be, all about – God’s answer. He sent Jesus. If you want to hear more, please come this Sunday morning as we listen to Part 2 of the sermon entitled, “Joseph Visited.”
