Sermon Synopsis for 5/1: What sign will signal the end of this age? Mt. 24:3

Will a time come when God says, “Enough is enough?” I suspect we’ve all played mental ping-pong over this eschatological quagmire more than occasionally. We see in our own land the ever-accelerating rate of moral freefall and ethical compromise. We hear around the globe of ugly nuclear threats coming out of North Korea and even uglier terroristic actions on the part of ISIS. So many Christians are throwing up their hands and crying out to God, “Maranatha! Come quickly, Lord Jesus!”

I understand these emotions, but the Lord Jesus would never want us to wish for His return so we can escape the world’s messes. Rather, He would want us to share His love for the confused, the hurting, the destitute, the abused.

2,000 years ago, four of Jesus’ disciples pulled Him aside to ask privately, “What will signal the end of this age?” If you’re interested in hearing His answer, please join us this Sunday morning as we look more closely at God’s chronologic time table for humanity.
