Sermon Synopsis for 3/19:”Treasures on Earth and Heaven”

With tongue in cheek, 20th century American poet, Richard Armour, captured what we all know to be largely true: “Workers earn it, spendthrifts burn it. Bankers lend it, women spend it.” (I’m merely quoting here, ladies.) “Forgers fake it, taxes take it. The dying leave it, heirs receive it. The thrifty save it, others crave it. Robbers seize it, the rich increase it. Gamblers lose it and I could use it.” (Me too.)

To what was Armour referring? Money of course, one of life’s largest angst-inducing necessities. I would offer this comparison: money is a lot like some spouses: ya’ can’t live with it, ya’ can’t live w/out it. We need it; but it often lugs a boatload of anxiety in its wake.

Why not visit this Sunday to hear what the Bible’s book of Proverbs teaches in regards to managing our money in a sermon entitled “Treasures on Earth and Heaven?”
