Charlotte had made headline news all around the globe back on May 2nd of this year. Was it because she had won an Oscar for her talent as an actress? Or had she wowed the crowd of America’s Got Talent at Radio City Music Hall, twirling up and down silk sashes? Or had she been blessed with a natural peaches and cream complexion that had landed her on the cover of Vogue Magazine?
Answer: None of these prestigious accomplishments catapulted Charlotte into the limelight. Charlotte had become famous solely because she had born into Britain’s Royal family. Princess Charlotte of Cambridge did absolutely nothing in order to gain worldwide attention. But more importantly, she did absolutely nothing, but traverse the birth canal, in order to enter a life of unprecedented privilege.
Yet despite how blessed Princess Charlotte has it, she’s got nothing on those of us who are children of the King of all kings. The Bible declares that such are a “royal priesthood”, spiritual blue-bloods, with Jesus’ blood coursing all through our veins.
We’re in the midst of a sermon series entitled, “The Great Questions of the Bible”. Please come this Sunday to learn something about who we are, as children of the King.
