Sermon Synopsis for Sunday, July 4th: “It’s Not Complicated — Part 2”

At age 67, I routinely hide behind the old adage, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” Now we all know that this is simply not true, but it does safely ensconce me in my LaLa Land of Blissful Ignorance. This old dog especially despises all the bells and whistles of the I-Phone. I make calls, I text, I can even take pics. But I’m silently boycotting getting a fuller education in all the other apps that it can do – just because I like being the “old dog.”

But equally true is a new adage. I know it’s new because I’m just now making it up. “You can’t teach a new dog old tricks.” If you want to discover how I came to this conclusion regarding this doggie show, you’ll have to join us this Sunday morning as we continue on with our sermon series within a sermon series, “It’s Not Complicated.”
