Sermon Synopsis for Sunday, October 20th: ” Who’s Your Daddy? (Part 1)”

One of country singer, Toby Keith’s many hits, included this five-time repeated tagline that poses four rhetorical questions. Each query zeroes in on the same person, one’s papa: “Who’s your daddy? Who’s your baby? Who’s your buddy? Who’s your man?” But enough about this less-than-spiritually-edifying song.

The New Testament doesn’t indicate this, doesn’t even hint at it, but the Apostle Paul probably didn’t sing country music in his day – largely because it is so difficult to sing Aramaic with a southern American twang; but if he had, I can hear him singing, “Who’s your daddy? Who’s your brother? Who’s your friend? Who’s your model?”

Care to know the answer? Please come out this Sunday morning and discover along with the rest of us, “Who’s your daddy, brother, friend and model?” I suspect you’ve already answer the question mistakenly.
