Sunday May 6th: Faith Family Fellowhsip Five Year Anniversary Service

Just over this past winter, we all witnessed several new things: April snow-showers are just now bringing May flowers; I got my 1st – and likely only – book published; our church family saw the end of an era with the Homegoing of our Matriarch, Norma Laubach. But talk about new! How ‘bout them Philadelphia Eagles winning Super Bowl LII? 1st time ever! Yes, miracles still happen!

Yet the Bible says this: “There is nothing new under the sun.” What in the world does this mean? It means that the Eagles are going win Super Bowl LIII! Or not.

So, let’s chase this Biblical point down by asking this question: “What isn’t new, since nothing truly is?” 19 other teams have won the prior 51 Super Bowls. Northeast Pennsylvania got dumped with 4” of snow back in April 1956 and again in 2003 but got slammed with a whopping 9” back in 1982. And every day, death knocks on somebody’s door.

Five years ago, on May the 5th, a handful of dreamers watched FFF traverse the birth canal. A funny thing at the time though, we were so new, we hadn’t even named ourselves yet; which is another story unto itself.

Why not celebrate this special day with us this Sunday morning as we recreate that first service we held, singing the same songs and preaching the same message? though contemporized to fit our current situation. Then stay afterwards for a full and free ham, chicken and beef dinner.
