This does not mean, however, that history, which has already happened, should be changed to promote different people&#8217;s agenda.<a href=\"https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/?attachment_id=5041\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5041\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5041\" src=\"https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/pilgrim-2010973_1280-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/pilgrim-2010973_1280-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/pilgrim-2010973_1280-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/pilgrim-2010973_1280-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/pilgrim-2010973_1280-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/pilgrim-2010973_1280-50x50.jpg 50w, https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/pilgrim-2010973_1280.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When it comes to our own nation\u2019s history, the educational drift is no more apparent than in the public school system\u2019s revisionist presentation of the First Thanksgiving.\u00a0 I illustrate: Back in 1913, the history textbook used in all Texas public schools devoted three-plus pages to the story of the Pilgrims \u2013 including such notable commentary as this: \u201cThey preferred even hardships that bereft them of friends for a time to the restraints denied them of their liberties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now fast forward a century to 2014 and the AP\u2019s 1000+ page history textbook used in many public high schools across our land entitled, \u201cAmerica\u2019s History.\u201d It shaved its commentary of the Pilgrims story down to two paragraphs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/?attachment_id=5042\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5042\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5042\" src=\"https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/thanksgiving-2903166_1280-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/thanksgiving-2903166_1280-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/thanksgiving-2903166_1280-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/thanksgiving-2903166_1280-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/faithfamilyfellowship.church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/thanksgiving-2903166_1280.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So why not attend this Wednesday evening as we retrieve the missing two-plus pages of history, and then some, to retell the fuller account?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Times have changed \u2013 because people change.
