My two brothers and I used to kid each other whenever one of us would do something really off-the-wall, something notably bizarre. We would say, \u201cWho\u2019s kid are you?\u201d<\/em> and this was back in the day when milk was delivered right to your door; so we would add, \u201cYou must be the milkman\u2019s kid!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n So on the phone, I accused my mom on account of her longstanding prevarication, \u201cWhy didn\u2019t you and dad tell me the truth? Did you think I was too fragile to accept my reality?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cAnd what reality might that be, Bobby?\u201d<\/em> my mom countered.<\/p>\n \u201cThat I\u2019m not your son \u2013 that you adopted me.\u201d<\/em> I then went on to explain my newly-gleaned understanding, affirmed by the basic laws of mathematics \u2013 that two positives can\u2019t equal a negative. (I soon learned that math and genetic equations don\u2019t overlap when considering the double recessive gene pool.
