A university library represents the pinnacle of literary scholarship and exhaustive research. It\u2019s one of the signature places where minds expand, values are shaped, and causes are born. So, who would have ever guessed on an otherwise vacant wall of one of our nation\u2019s best, some unremarkable student scrawled his ideological conviction that shattered the silence of that famed repository of erudition? He simply wrote: \u201cApathy rules!\u201d<\/p>\n
Now just in case some of you don\u2019t know the meaning of the term, \u201capathy,\u201d let me simply say, \u201cI don\u2019t care.\u201d Oh no, don’t get me wrong, I really do care. I was merely supplying the definition to the word; it actually means, \u201cI don\u2019t care.\u201d<\/p>\n
I hope this young man\u2019s perspective sits more-than-slightly askew of reality; I hope his apathy doesn\u2019t reign in our country\u2019s institutions of higher learning. But more than this, I pray that apathy doesn\u2019t rule in our country\u2019s churches.
