I have a question for all you moms out there: \u201cWhat are some of the common features you share with most other moms when it comes to giving birth?\u201d Grueling pain \u2013 and more pain \u2013 such pain that, \u201cWe\u2019re never doing this again!\u201d \u2013 UNTIL that baby arrives, and the agony transforms into ecstasy. (You\u2019re right, Ladies, I\u2019m speaking from experiential ignorance.) \u201cWhat else?\u201d \u201cThere\u2019s no more euphoric feeling than cuddling that new little life!\u201d \u201cGood, what else?\u201d \u201cNine months that can\u2019t come soon enough!\u201d \u201cAnything else about your newborn?\u201d Oh, you wish you could skip over those teenage years. Kidding.<\/p>\n
How about this feature? You likely delivered your baby in a sterile hospital and were ensconced by a fully qualified obstetrician and competent nurse. It wasn\u2019t always that way, and not so very long ago. My maternal grandma, for example, delivered all her five babies at home; and grandad served as her doc.<\/p>\n
