What do the names\u00a0Dylan Klebold,\u00a0Seung-Hui Cho,\u00a0James Holmes,\u00a0Adam Lanza,\u00a0Dylann Roof,Syed Farook, and most recently,\u00a0Omar Mateen\u00a0all have in common? They’re all\u00a0mass murderers. How\u00a0sad\u00a0that each\u00a0one of these obscure\u00a0young men\u00a0has become\u00a0a household name b\/c\u00a0they purposefully\u00a0conducted their own\u00a0purge\u00a0of society! They wiped out a horde of people they didn’t even know.<\/p>\n
We\u00a0recoil\u00a0at\u00a0the horror\u00a0at what they’ve done. Surviving family members are forever changed. Nothing in life will ever be the same – except\u00a0for those haunting images\u00a0of loved one’s final moments. Everyone gropes for some understandable answer\u00a0to the question, “Why?”<\/em> But\u00a0I ask, “Will any answer satisfy?”\u00a0<\/em>Cho\u00a0hated what he perceived\u00a0was the arrogance of the wealthy. Roof\u00a0hated what he perceived\u00a0as one-sided racism.\u00a0Mateen\u00a0claimed\u00a0he was an ISIS devotee. But maybe, the\u00a0scariest\u00a0of all,\u00a0Klebold\u00a0just wanted\u00a0the notoriety\u00a0for being the greatest mass murderer of his generation.<\/p>\n Horrific! whatever the motive. Unconscionable. Abominable. Inexcusable. And here’s one more descriptor,\u00a0epidemic. In other words, we\u00a0haven’t seen the end\u00a0of this travesty\u00a0yet – nor will we. Just ask anyone who wears blue these days.<\/p>\n Why do I say this crisis is epidemic?
