Every parent dreams big when God blesses his\/her home with a child. “My son’s going to be a heart surgeon someday”, or “He’s going to be a prosecuting attorney.” ” My daughter’s going to be a big city newscaster one day”, or “She’s going to be a future U.S. President.”<\/p>\n
I’m no different than anybody else. When Andy was born, I dreamed big. I pictured him snagging passes for the Phila. Eagles. Or he had born a she, I pictured her doing backflips and handsprings as an Eagles cheerleader.
\nSome of us have erred in trying to push our kids in a direction they didn’t want go. It was almost as though we were trying to relive our lives through theirs; as though we were getting a 2nd chance to fix all the mistakes we had made along our life’s journey.<\/p>\n
If you haven’t already figured this one out, God didn’t grant us children so we could have a “do-over”. God blessed us with children primarily, so we could ensure Christianity’s perpetuity. The fact is, Christianity is always just one generation away from extinction. Simple logic says that if we don’t impart our faith to our children, then they’ll have nothing to impart to theirs.<\/p>\n
